Why Use Glass Break Detectors?

The acceptable security configuration for the coarse Miami home alarm premise includes mainly the security point touch (for doors and windows), as perimeter protection, and the widely known appeal detector to cover the inside of the premise. An often overlooked security device, that is highly effective, is the glass break detector.

A Glass Break Detector is a gadget that senses the sound of "glass breaking"and immediately sounds the alarm. The acceptable one used for an Adt Home security law possesses what is called "Dual Technology", meaning, two simultaneous variables are required to set off the sounder, which are: the actual sound of glass breaking, and a turn in air compression in the room.

From a security standpoint it makes sense to have them because even though they might be costly to add (5-0) to a budgeted customer, they compensate their price by providing excellent peripheral reach.

The most used model from Honeywell has a reach of 25 feet surrounding the gadget which regularly installed on ceiling or a high point in a wall, so, for example, if installed in a living room with many windows, the device, will cover all of them at the same time. In this way providing the law with detection at an earlier stage, in other words, the alarm will go off when the glass of any of the windows is broken by the burglar as opposed to the burglar being detected by the appeal detector once inside the house.

This is not in detriment of the appeal Detector which at the same time covers for the weaknesses of a Glass Break Detector. Actually, for optimum security, Glass Break Detectors and appeal Detectors should be used together.

Another frequent use of the Glass Break Detector is to supply perimeter security for Miami families who have any pets and don't want to have false alarms by having appeal detectors inside.
